Zagreb.info recently highlighted the groundbreaking initiative of Energo-Tehna, a leading Zagreb-based company specialised in the production and installation of steel structures.

Rising electricity costs have been a major concern for companies across Croatia, and Energo-Tehna was no exception. However, the company decided to take a decisive step toward changing this reality through its project, “Photovoltaic Power Plant for Own Consumption – SE Energo-Tehna.”

With a total project value of EUR 652,731.13, co-financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014–2021 under the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme, this initiative represents a major transformation in the company’s energy consumption model.

The project aims to significantly increase the use of renewable energy sources, resulting in an annual production of 842.55 MWh of electricity.

Branimir Bošnjak, Project Manager, emphasised the importance of the initiative not only for the company but also for Croatia as a whole. By becoming more energy-independent and efficient, Energo-Tehna is strengthening its competitiveness in both the Croatian and European markets.

The project commenced in June 2022 and gained momentum after the company successfully secured funding through a public call organised by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds in November 2022.

Bošnjak expressed his gratitude to the Government for recognising the project’s value, highlighting its role in supporting small and micro enterprises. As the European Union continues to set ambitious energy and environmental targets, projects such as this contribute directly to their achievement.

External associate Zoran Zetić provided an update, confirming that the project is progressing according to plan.
